Mission "Connected park in La Courneuve" The challenge: how can we make wifi available in Georges-Valbon Park? DESIGN-THINKING Georges-Valbon park is a genuine asset for the department of Seine-Saint-Denis. It is a sensitive and protected natural space, as well as a place for life and leisure enjoyed by both local residents and occasional passersby. In this park, inhabitants of Stains, SaintDenis, Le Bourget and Dugny like to wander especially thanks to a direct pedestrian access in several places in the park. Making wifi available in the park is convenient for visitors but is also a new way offered to understand these natural spaces and how they evolve, along with a new way to visit the park and a new etiquette to do so. Wifi cannot be available in the whole park, besides it would be useless. The team therefore sought to determine where to make wifi available and how to inform visitors of available wifi other than with a traditional signage: hence the proposals of furniture model. EN CHIFFRES THE CONTEXT 417 hectares of land with large green areas, wild or landscaped gardens including seven natural or artificial water bodies: it is bigger than New York Central Park! 900 000 visitors a year walk in the various environments that are managed by considering the various cycles of fauna and flora. Up to 20 visitors a year to go from the picnic areas to the park.
