A perfect way to boost innovation
The second Startup Booster competition will be held during JEC World
2018, on 6-8 March 2018.
The programme is open to entrepreneurs with an innovative project - SMEs
or startups, including academic spinoffs - who want to meet the world
leaders in the composite industry to advance to the next level.

he Startup Booster competition is a
programme serving the composites
industry as a whole. JEC Group's
mission is to support and sustain the
growth of composites by promoting and
showcasing the potential of these materials in all possible applications. Startup
Booster is a way to source and filter innovations in order to present them to the industry and boost their adoption.
Many partners are involved in the second
edition of the programme, to support and
promote the competition and to source
projects from all over the world - check
the list of Startup Booster 2018 partners.
Due to the attractiveness of startups in the
composites field, and to the power of JEC,
the event benefits from a series of leading
partners in 2018:
- Airbus and Daimler as Main Innovation
Partners;
- 3M as Industry Partner;
- Solvay Venture as Coaching Partner;
- CETIM, IPC and Pôle Astech as
Innovation & Research partners.
The participating companies were invited
to compete in the following two categories: Process (design, manufacturing, and
digitalization/Industry 4.0) and Products
(new materials including hybrid materi-

A strong business package
In January, ten startups were selected to
pitch in front of a jury of experts and leading industry players at JEC World on 6
March 2018. They will also benefit from a
strong business package that includes three
days at the show's Startup Booster Village
and mentoring sessions with industry experts, including Airbus and Daimler, the
main innovation partners of the Startup
Booster programme for the second year in
a row.
Out of these ten nominees, three winners
will be announced during the JEC World
show. In addition to receiving extensive
exposure to the international professional
composites crowd, they will benefit from
an acceleration package, including an 18m²
booth at JEC World 2019 as well as a promotion package worth €10,000, and finally
€3,500 to cover their participation costs in
2018. The selected startups will also be invited to the JEC World VIP Party, and will
be offered a full logistic package (with F&B
during the day).
An intensive three-day programme
In 2018, the Startup Booster programme
will offer an intensive three-day programme, jointly organized with BPI France
Le Hub, which will include:
- A pitching session: in front of both the

jury and industry leaders;
- A Startup Booster Winners Ceremony:
with the attendance of industrialists,
international press, and scientists;
- "Meet the jury" sessions: providing
startups the possibility of interacting
with, and getting tangible feedback
from, each jury member;
- "Example of agility between Corporate
and Startup": a session by Solvay
Venture, with Stéphane Roussel, CEO
of Solvay Venture, and Leandro Castro,
CEO of MultiMechanics;
- An accelerator session: with the Airbus
composites and manufacturing teams;
- An AMA (Ask Me Anything) session: with Clémentine Gallet, CEO of
Coriolis;
- Startup Club sessions: with the three
2017 winners (HPrec, 3D Fortify and
Pond) sharing experience and tips
with their peers.
This programme will also be open to participants in the show.
