epm:technology group wins
a £22m aerospace production contract
The company based in Derby, UK, announces it has won a £22m+ order to
produce and supply composite aircraft interior components and sub structures. This
is the first announcement following the
move of the company into a purpose-built
60,000sq. ft. technology centre 11 months
ago, completed with DEGF (Derby Enterprise Growth Fund) support.

Mitsubishi Rayon large tow carbon
fibre to be used on Airbus A320 Family
The company introduces its premium large
tow carbon fibre "Pyrofil TRH50 60K" to
the aerospace industry.
This alliance, launched for the A320 Neo
project, to study possible cost savings
in the aviation industry, has enabled
conventional 24K carbon fibre aerospace
grade to be replaced by an innovative,
high precision but economical large tow
prepreg. A substantial cost reduction could
be achieved without sacrificing any of the
high technical requirements of the floor
panel composite laminate.

Prodrive Composites
secures £6M investment
The company has secured a £6m growth
capital investment from BGF (Business
Growth Fund). The Milton-Keynes based
business, has seen significant growth in the
past two years with new contracts in the
automotive and aerospace sectors.
Prodrive Composites employs nearly 200
people and sales hit £13m last year and are
on course to grow to more than £15m at
the end of this financial year. In the past 18
months the business has achieved significant capacity improvements, reducing the
cycle time from raw material to finished
parts from an average of six to eight weeks
down to two weeks.

Teijin opens Technology
Development Center in Matsuyama
Integrating advanced fibres development functions previously handled by
the Osaka Research Center, as well related
company-wide solutions development and
engineering, the Technology Development
Center will serve as a core R&D base and
nexus of cross-business solutions development to fortify Teijin's capabilities in the
high-performance fibres business and
support its development of composite materials and solutions combining products
and services.
