The formulation of the concentrate contains no hazardous materials, making it friendly to both the user and the environment. Because the product is pH neutral and quick drying, it is noncorrosive, and therefore suitable for use on steel and aluminium moulds, as well as most other mould substrates. It is also simple to use, and does not require special application techniques or equipment. Most SMC/BMC operations simply employ a hand-pumped spray bottle to “fog” the mould with a light mist of release, and/or a quick wipe across the mould with a cotton rag. Frequency of application is dependent on the configuration of the part and the formulation of the SMC/BMC compound. Typically, the release is applied every 3-5 parts.
