Exhibition Update Hong Kong Mode Lingerie A key player in fostering business and promoting networking in the field of lingerie fabrics and accessories as well as OEM and ODM Production capacities, Hong Kong Mode Lingerie will stage its third edition on April 7th and 8th 2009. Intima Asia spoke to Véronique Bonnet, Exhibition Manager. Ms Bonnet, what do you believe are the strong points of HKML? Hong Kong Mode Lingerie is the leading international sourcing platform for the intimate apparel and swimwear industries in Asia. It is an international hub to access the Asian market. It is organized by Eurovet, the world leader for lingerie and swimwear trade shows including Mode City, Interfilière Paris and Salon International de la Lingerie. HKML has also gained the support from key local organizations such as the HKIAIA HK Intimate Apparel Industries Association. More broadly it has also gained support from the Thai Department of Export Promotion, and the French Ministry of International Trade and Affairs. Further the show provides a broad range of comprehensive industry and market information including a trends forum designed and staged by experts (in cooperation with Jos Berry from leading design office Concepts Paris), and an exVÉRONIQUE BONNET tensive program of seminars and conferences on key issues and hot topics. HKML adopts the same strategy as the shows in France implementing a very high standard of exhibitor selection in line with the show’s strategy of providing quality products at competitive prices. Further, press relations and visitor marketing are conceived and implemented with the know-how of the Eurovet international network which counts over 20,000 qualified contacts worldwide. Is the type of exhibitor and visitor participating at the show evolving? This year we have a high rate of exhibitors renewing their participation, as they were satisfied with last year’s event. Some of the companies of course reduced the size of their stand to cut costs but on the whole what is evident is that you cannot miss this event if you are a leader in this industry.We have a good balance of all types of supplies, from fibers, knitted or woven fabrics, laces, embroideries, accessories The first insight on visitors online registration is: early registrations, much higher than last year! Further, profiles of visitors are even more specialized than last year (94% of registered manufacturers are from the lingerie and swimwear industry). How can HKML help businesses in these difficult times?
