Students' work within
the chairs rewarded
The oral defense of three Company Consultancy Projects carried out for some partners of ESCP Europe's
chairs took place on January 18th at the school's Paris campus. All three were a success!
E
SCP Europe's chairs and their partners offer MBA in International
Management ( I M ) st udents a
great field of work: Company Consultancy
Projects (CPPs). In 2017, IoT Chair
par t ner Valeo ent r usted MBA in
International Management students
with two 3-month consulting assignments about what a positive driving
experience could look like in the future,
and how to improve it. The first CPP
entitled "Content Over The Air" aimed
to translate Valeo's Content Over the Air
technology and innovations into a profitable business in line with the company's
Visibility System strategy. The second
CPP aimed to identify a way to make
Valeo's HD-weather technology profitable. Both were collaborative consultancy
projects carried out by teams made up of
students with diverse cultural and business backgrounds.
"Such projects are a great opportunity for
both parties", commented Sophie Porte,
Product Marketing Manager at Valeo
Visibilit y Systems. "Students work on
concrete cases and move from academics
to a professional presentation, understanding to use what they learn in class in daily
life. At the same time, we get challenged by
their perception of our business. This is also
an opportunity for Valeo to attract talents
by showing how IoT is about to be a game
changer for our visibility systems".
A nother group of seven st udents
worked on a CPP for Solvay, a partner
in the Industrial Relations and Firms'
Compet it iveness C ha ir. St udents
met Solvay representatives on a regular basis to achieve their mission and
design a business model for Solvay's
Sutstainable Guar Initiative, which aims
to empower farmers w ith tools and

knowledge to cultivate the crop through
good agricultural practices, resulting in
more continuous, high yield production.
They elaborated their recommendations
through a strategic approach in terms
of resources, customers segments, price
analysis etc., bearing in mind the major
goal for Solvay: the social impact of the
programme. "Brilliant" was the fi rst word
uttered by Lamia Narcisse, Sustainability
Director at Solvay Novecare and sponsor of this CPP. "It is an impactful job that
has been done in a few months. It was great
to see you really got involved and you succeeded in clarifying a lot of things. I will
defi nitively use the concrete outcomes you
brought in, you put me in contact with different people very useful for the project and
today, I can say I'm sad it is already fi nished!"
