INTELLECTUAL MOBILITY
"ALL MENTORS, ALL MENTEES!"
Our mentoring program is a tool for sharing experiences
with confidence between a mentor and a mentee. More
than a network and less than career coaching, mentoring is at the heart of our sense of community.
For the five years since this program began, several
thousand pairs have been created. However, for 2014,
only 370 mentoring relationships were established.
Regardless of the number of mentoring pairs created,
two constant points are to be emphasized: the general
satisfaction with the mentoring process (85% of
mentees who responded to the satisfaction questionnaire were happy with the progress of the mentoring)
and the strong demand from the student population (all
programs) that has not waned (more than 50% of mentoring relationships).
Mentoring must therefore be reinforced. From
strategic reflection launched by the Association in 2014
emerged the strong desire for mentoring for students,
for alumni, in France - both inside and outside the Paris
region - but also all over the world.
And almost unanimously, the work group favors the
choice of an app/mobile solution. So, "Mobile first!" is
undoubtedly not just a literary expression!
''
The various talks I had with my mentor gave
me self-confidence and helped me make choices.
I really appreciated the kindness, availability, and
empathy of my mentor."'
- Andreea E-O., mentee.
''
It was a wonderful experience, on a
personal and professional level.''
- Hervé D, mentor.
A working group intended to create a "Web 3.0" mentoring tool was launched. Ten volunteers will develop the
expression of needs/specifications and will work on the
selection of the service provider to permit the launch
of the new Mentoring program in early 2016.
Objectives:
* the goal of this new tool of the future is to make
mentoring widespread within the community (from
500 to 5,000 mentoring relationships per year!),
* allow all populations - alumni, young HEC graduates, alumni in their thirties, experienced professionals, seniors, in France, outside the Paris region, or working internationally, French or other
nationalities - to benefit from this powerful tool.
A mentoring relationship that will be based on digital
techniques while remaining friendly, a tool maximizing
the potential of mentoring and preserving the quality of
the relationship, channeling and reinforcing the natural
need for exchange among our alumni.
