Miss Lala’s Boudoir After three years in America, actress Fine Rees returned home to London opening the first Miss Lala’s Boudoir in Primrose Hill with her mother Marianne. The store’s Hollywood flair was a hit with local celebrity and media residents, soon achieving cult status. Due to Miss Lala’s success a new 1200ft2 flagship store has opened in the heart of London. The charming Monmouth Street, Covent Garden location is accessible to international clientele who adore shopping in the ambient street with its stone paving, Victorian theatre and upmarket boutiques. Struck by the shocking pink exterior, passers-by are tempted inside by the trio of fifties mannequins dressed in Miss Lala’s fabulous lingerie, swimwear and dresses. With an array of brands attracting a high-end price point including Miss Lala’s own superb line, the sophisticated merchandise is homage to retro glamour. The lingerie in silks, satins and chiffons is pretty and feminine, color coordinated with jewel tones, pastels and brights. Creating an upbeat mood, customers explore the luxurious store to cabaret music, freely picking up frilly knickers and giftware laid out to touch. Gold is powder coated on all fittings throughout the store. Twisted, gilded legs reminiscent of old French carousels are a feature of the custom made table, tiered display stands and heartshaped wrought iron railings. Seven antique chandeliers illuminate the pink and turquoise walls and flooring of light polished oak. Downstairs, influenced by Jayne Mansfields L.A. mansion, are the dressing rooms plushly carpeted with a floral and leopard print motif, curtained in pink satin.
