This 2011 show was particularly dynamic on account of the impressive number of projects of all kinds. It may be noted, however, that in terms of the sectors of application, the automotive and construction industries stood out in particular as did, with regard to supplies, automated equipment and carbon fibre. Aside from the many announcements from the recognised producers of carbon fibre, I would particularly like to acknowledge the initiative of the Victorian Centre for Advanced Materials Manufacturing (VCAMM), Australia, which announced the construction of an open-access carbon line. Over 300 scientists and students will be able to benefit from this.
