96 femmes étaient présentes sur la drop
zone mythique Skydive Arizona, pour ce
grand rendez-vous féminin. Si un grand
nombre savait que leur place était garantie
dans les tentatives, étant conscientes de
leur niveau, une bonne moitié d'entre
elles n'étaient sûres de rien. Les deux
premiers jours de préparation et les
quelques premiers sauts de 30 à 40
allaient être décisifs pour certaines
d'entre elles. Toutes les filles présentes
étaient parfaitement conscientes de
cette règle du jeu.

Amy Chmelecki a organisé les quatre
précédents records du monde féminin
en freefly. Le précédent record à 41,
en 2010, comptait une majorité
d'Américaines. Mais pour ce record à
63, la présence d'Anna et Domitille en
tant qu'organisatrices contribua à étoffer
le groupe de près de 50% de
freeflyeuses européennes, dont onze
Françaises. "Durant l'année 2013,
Anna et moi avons organisé quelques
workshops et travaillé sur quelques
boogies en promouvant ces tentatives
de record du monde féminin,
explique Domitille Kiger. Dans différents
pays d'Europe, nous avons formé
et coaché des filles qui étaient intéressées par l'aventure. Le contact direct
a généré une belle motivation et une
certaine mise en confiance chez des
filles qui ne pensaient pas forcément
avoir les capacités pour participer à un
tel événement. Un grand nombre de
filles avec lesquelles nous avons sauté

Le déroulement de ces tentatives fut
placé sous la direction d'une équipe
de choc comptant les Américaines Amy
Chmelecki et Sarah Curtis (multi-médaillées, ex-membres d'Arizona Arsenal),
Melissa Nelson (co-propriétaire de
Skydive Chicago, multi-médaillée également) l'Anglaise Anna Howerski (planificatrice/organisatrice pour les Vector
Festival, UPT Flight Camps, Voss Festival, etc.) ainsi que Domitille Kiger très
connue en France bien sûr, et aussi sur
toute la planète freefly, championne du
monde de freefly en titre (Dubaï 2012)
au sein de l'équipe Kristal.
Depuis maintenant un an,
Amy Chmelecki, Anna Howerski
et Domitille ont constitué les Joy Riders
XP, la fameuse et seule équipe féminine
de Dynamic 4-way qui actuellement
a le vent en poupe.
