CRITT Matériaux PoitouCharentes (CRITT MPC) is over
20 years old. Could you, in just
a few words, tell us about its
organisation, its missions in the
field of composite materials and
its development?

Annette Roy &
Sébastien Papin : One of

the areas of expertise of CRITT
MPC, as an R&D and testing
laboratory, concerns polymer
and composite materials. We
work for companies along the
entire value chain from design
through to certification. Due to
our significant and progressive
development, we are now well-

recognised in our fields of expertise. We have been qualified by
major customers in the transport
sector. For example, we do a lot
of work on the monitoring of the
carbon parts for the Airbus A350
XWB programme. In R&D, our
studies, carried out on behalf
of companies, enhance our
expertise in the field of technical
composites: durability, design
and dimensioning, predictive
failure, and life-cycle analysis. A
permanent team of 30 technicians and engineers develops
and supports our activities.
JCM: Why have you included
composite materials in your
activity?

to look to composite materials,
and in particular structural parts.
Our work has also supported the
strong development in aircraft

The Regional Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer Materials Poitou-Charentes (CRITT MPC) is a laboratory for studies,
analysis, testing and expertise in specialized polymer materials,
composites and metals. Helping companies through their process
of innovation, research and testing, the CRITT MPC presents today
for JEC Composites Magazine new approachs for composites
materials recycling.

JCM: What is the proportion
of recycled composite materials? What is your vision looking
toward 2020? What are the
brakes and levers when it comes
to increasing the collection of
recyclables?

A.R. & S.P. : It is a difficult

is very low. There is no specific
