What are your marketing challenges for
architectural composites?

P. P: Awareness. We are still in a stage where

architects and users appreciate the value that
composites add. Having a composite front

P. P: Very good aesthetics, unmatched fin-

we can promise our clients. We do not have
restrictions on size or on experimenting.
Our company aims at investing with a longterm perspective in manufacturing facilities,
local talents, the development of a local supplier base, new technologies as statutory in

Indian market.

Does the government support architectural
composites?

What are the most interesting projects
where you feel composites should be used?

P. P: Composites have considerable capabilities. I would be impressed to see them rejuvenating minarets, domes, and sculptures
that have immense importance in showcasing the culture, heritage and art of India.
Many of these can be restored and rejuvenated with composites, so that they can be preserved and passed on to the next generations.
The other projects are those of public interest, like our electric poles and barricades.
This looks like a very small innovation, but
has far reaching advantages.

negatively, some of the government's initiatives are helpful for us.
In 2015, the Union Ministry of Urban Development launched the Smart City Mission.

In India, the segment of architectural composites is yet to get its due. It is also a challenge to showcase a large variety of products
to architects, unlike existing competitors
who flourish using metal, wooden and concrete products.

have we experienced this? Right now, we are
selling by conviction, marketing by push and
pursuing endless experimentation.
The market for mass-produced composites
is still to see the day's light for individually
owned buildings and private interiors. Agni
Fibers currently segments it markets into
B2B (business to business) and B2C (direct
consumers). For B2B clients, we arrange
short sales speeches for renowned builders
and contractors in the vicinity. For the B2C
segment, we participate in local fairs like
VCCI and display general-use products such
as ladders, louvers and others.

to create a corporate company headed by a
full-time CEO. The projects will be executed
through joint ventures, subsidiaries of public-private partnership models.
This initiative will give a major impetus to
city architecture and town planning. It will
also bring a plethora of opportunities to us.
We have already participated and secured orders for transformer barricades, lake beautification and others. The government may also
recognize the necessity of using composites
in sea shore areas, and promote composites
as materials for such cities.
Although there are no direct policies benefitting the industry, such initiatives are quite
helpful. These will also make a case study for
many, introducing them to the world of composites in architecture.
