JEC WORLD 2017 is committed to innovation
JEC Group is proposing a new focus on entrepreneurship to identify
and support tomorrow's industrial successes related to composites.

ver recent years, JEC
Group has been working to
focus attention on and provide support for startups, small
and medium-sized businesses,
and spinoffs that innovate in the
field of composite materials, but
whose innovations are not always
given international attention, for
lack of funds, poor communication, or the springboard they
need to bring them to the attention of the industrial sector, and
perhaps even of consumers.

JEC Group has used its international experience to launch an international startups competition
with prise money at the 2016
Experience Composites event in
Augsburg, and at the 2016 JEC
Asia in Singapore.

2017! "The purpose of the event
is to always create convergence
among actual market needs, industrial processes and innovative ide-

as through this new competition,
which highlights the potential of
the industry's promising startups,"
adds Ms. Mutel.
At the JEC World show on 1416 March 2017, the new Startup
Booster programme will reward
fifteen companies that it identifies, supports and promotes
worldwide for their innovative composite technologies.
Dr Turlough Mc Mahon from
Airbus Composites manufacturing Technologies, as Innovation
Partner of startup Booster, declares: "Airbus is delighted to be
part of the biggest event in the
composite calendar, and are looking forward to fostering the next
generation of technologies to enable
us to continue to grow our manufacturing capability".
Startup Booster encourages entrepreneurial initiative with two
objectives:
- All the fifteen competing startups benefit from mentoring on
the part of major international
companies, coaching and B2B
meetings, unhoped for in other
circumstances, direct contact
with customers, investors and
industrial partners worldwide;
- To give the manufacturers an
opportunity to meet with very
small businesses and to deal
with new generations of entrepreneurs.

Up to fifteen competing startups from the new generation
These international exchanges
contribute to sustainable development through networking activities. The startups will be selected
based on the significant advances
they bring to the environment,
cost reduction, quality, or health
through their processes and/or
products that reconcile environmental safety and the high performance offered by composite
materials, and which contribute
to positive changes in our habits.
During the three days of the trade
show, the three award winners
will benefit from more than just a
strong gathering of leaders in the
composites market. They will also
reap the benefits of the presence of
journalists and international media and the presentation of their
projects in the Startups Village.
They will also receive a prise
worth €10, 000 and awards worth

some €15,000 in the form of the
added value of visibility through
articles, a stand, and free passes to
the JEC World 2018 conference
sessions. All is geared to help these
innovative businesses carve out a
niche for themselves among large
ones, and to give young entrepreneurs worldwide the means and
self-confidence to persevere with
their research and manufacturing
choices for the future.
