We opted for the use of a self-rigid grid structure in the form of a U-beam made from composite material (polyester resin/glass fibre laminate) in order to eliminate the intermediate supporting structures and exploit the translucency of the material. The modules consist of a Nidaplast polypropylene honeycomb core. The assembly, prefabricated in the workshop, is low-pressure vacuummoulded. The walkway, which weighs less than a tonne, was transported by lorry to the site then installed in the yard using a crane that carried it over the school, 28 m up.
