INNOVATIONS INNOVATIONS Dosing System for the Polyester Vacuum Infusion Process Bigger composite parts are manufactured with the infusion process. The application domain is wide spread from yacht building to the production of parts for wind power plants. The new Wolf Angel® dosing machine for the polyester infusion process gives you a flexible and reliable solution for dosing and supplying the material to the infusion buffer tank. The machine can be built for dosing up to 3 components (resin + 2 additional components). The components are dosed by means of mechanically linked piston pumps. A wide range of dosing ratios is possible since different pumps can be built in. The components are mixed in a mixing gun with fully automated material valves. The machine is also equipped with a recirculation system so as to fill the material lines before production start. The flow of each component is controlled and measured by means of flowmeters to ensure that the dosing ratio is always exactly known and is compared to the set value. The infusion process cannot be started until the dosing ratio fits with the set value. The maximum output of the machine is around 30 kg/min. The levels of the additional component hobbocks are controlled. If the level is too low to finish the current infusion, the machine emits optic and acoustic warning signals to the operator with the message on the display to replace the container. The level of the infusion buffer container is controlled by means of a level sensor. With the used technology, it is possible to set different level limits depending of the advancement of the infusion so that material loss is minimized. The machine is equipped with the well-proved Wolf Angel® flushing system. The flushing is manually operated. An auto-matic flushing system is available as option. The machine is equipped with a PLC control. The touch-screen allows an easy set up and control of the plant. The process data are always visible on the screen. Coating and laminating machines to process: The process parameters such as dosing amount, material levels, pot time, etc. can be set up very easily. Before the button ”start dosing” is activated, the materials are recirculated until the dosing ratio fits with the set value. The process data (dosed amount of material, infusion time etc.) are saved on a memory card. Later on, these data can be exploited with MS Excel.
