10 October 2012 www.newport.com AJS Series 170 TPI Adjustment Screws Key Features New 170 TPI thread pitch 43% better sensitivity – Easier alignment Provides optimal sensitivity to Ultima or Suprema mounts and compatible with many others NEW Available individually or in a cost-saving 6-pack Custom OEM design services available The AJS170 Sensitivity Advantage Alignment Time (s) O P T I C A L M O U N T S Newport has introduced high-precision adjustment screws with a 170 thread-per-inch (TPI) thread pitch, providing a 43% improvement in sensitivity over standard 100 TPI adjustment screws. The benefit of the 170 TPI adjuster is strengthened by the results of timed alignment testing where a mirror mount with these adjusters was consistently aligned within a band of ±3 µrad in about half the time as the same mount with 100 TPI threads. High-precision 170 TPI stainless steel threads are mated with the collet and a proprietary lubricant to allow a full 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) of fine, stictionless movement. The standard 0.375 in. (9.5 mm) diameter collet is threaded with a nut for effortless mounting to optical mounts and stages. The 170 TPI High-Precision Adjustment Screws are non-locking and are available with a knob or with a 5/64 in. (2 mm) hex key. Suprema Clear Edge Mirror Mount Key Features Stainless steel construction for superior stiffness and stability Time-tested and Industry-proven design Precision-polished Ultra-hard Tungsten Carbide pads High-resolution 100 TPI adjustment screws Patented clear quadrant or closed aperture designs Front or rear loading optic versions Integrated locking options The SN200-F2K is a stainless steel mount for 2 inches (50.8 mm) diameter optics and is sold with two locking adjustment screws for precision pitch/yaw positioning. This Suprema mount is designed to be more compact than other mounts of its size, allowing unencumbered access to the edge of the mirror. This means that mirrors held with this mount can make physical contact with each other (the SN200 is available in right-handed or left-handed versions for just this purpose). This precision mount utilizes micro-polished carbide pads which enable smooth, low-friction adjustment and outstanding stability.
