They are driven by 18,000 drivers. The proportion of journeys made by taxis in all forms of motorised transport within Paris is approximately 1.4%. The proportion of taxis in Paris traffic is 6%. Taxi bays To make it easier to use taxis, Paris City Hall set up a new organisation of taxi bays in 2007. 442 taxi bays are spread across the capital including: 28 major bays near tourist sites, fitted with “luminous cubes” 90 district bays 324 local bays located near hospitals, hotels, theatres, etc., including 6 bays in railway stations.
