OBIGGS, THE ON-BOARD INERT GAS GENERATING SYSTEM PROTOTYPE

Developed at the Roche-la-Molière site in France, the On-Board Inert Gas Generating System for fuel tanks uses a polymer membrane gas separation technology to produce inert gas (low in oxygen). The presence of inert gas in the tanks reduces the inflammability of residual gas and reduces the risk of explosion. This increases safety on board.
